We go swimming a few times a week. Today at the pool I was talking on the phone with my dear friend Katie. Addy was being so good playing in the water on her own and having fun and just let me talk. Normally if I am on the phone she will pester me to get off and play with her.
On our way out I said Addy it's time to go. She runs to our stuff and throws the keys in the deepest part of the pool. I put the phone down, jump in, and dive after the keys. As I come out of the water Addy is laughing extremely hard and I hear a "plop." There goes the phone. I put the keys down and dive after the phone. I come up and Addy is laughing even harder. I tell her this is not funny and she needs to stop in a stern voice, but it was too late as I look for the keys they are already on the pool floor. I try to grab the keys with my toes so I can keep an eye on her, but it is too deep and somehow the phone is already in the pool again.
Finally a little boy maybe 5 or 6 years old came and said "I can dive that deep if you want me to." Obviously the phone was a lost cause at this point and I probably should have just left it in the pool. Addy laughed the whole way home and when I said "It is not funny you are in big trouble" Her response was "No no no" with a giggle at the end.
To top it off Caleb is at scout camp and doesn't have cell phone service unless he hikes a half of a mile to the top of a plateau. I only get one phone call a day between 6:30 and 7:00pm. Poor Caleb after his hike was wondering why I am so mean to not answer his calls after all the effort that goes into it. All due to Addy's little prank.
