Surprise Trip

Well we will be on our way to Utah this week. Caleb is switching jobs and took a week off in between so he has some extra vacation time. Since Addy will be two in November we will have to start buying three air plane tickets (ugh), we thought we would take a trip while we only have to get two tickets. I thought we might not be going home until Christmas which seems so far away. And we get to go to Aubree's wedding! I love weddings and it is so sad to miss family events like this. I am so excited it almost feels like Christmas.

Since I am currently without a car due to the bmer blowup, I will be staying in Utah for 2 weeks. Yay I am so excited. Dilemma...Caleb already pre-ordered Breaking Dawn for me so I didn't have pick it up at the store (he is sweet, I know). But the problem is it comes out while I am in Utah. Luckily he already figured out how to change the shipping and ship it to my parents. I get to read it on Vacation!! Yay again.

The sad part is I am going to miss Crystal's baby shower and I am way sad because it would be so much fun to have a night out with all the girls. :(

Also, today I had my first facial. It was heavenly and I would recommend anyone to go to Christine's Salon in Kingwood and ask for Jaime. Really it was like the most relaxing thing I have ever experienced and she is so sweet. So hopefully my face will be all clean and clear for the wedding.

Play dough

We were bored one afternoon and I decided to make Addy some play dough. It is really easy to do and she had a blast. I didn't have any food coloring so it's a boring color.

Addy hard at work.

Here is the recipe:

1 cup boiling water
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup salt
1 tablespoon cream of tartar
Food coloring

Mix and enjoy!

Saying Goodbye

I lost a friend Tuesday. We had been good friends for seven years. Caleb liked her too and lately it seemed like he was a better friend to her than I. You never know when it will be your last goodbye. She was on the way home from a routine checkup when she passed. She was 21 years old and lived a good life, longer than most people expected. No one new what had went wrong, there was to much damage to tell. The only conclusion after the autopsy was that the sound device placed in her had crossed with the wiring to her brain and caused an overload that somehow shut her down. Many came to try and rescue her including the fire department, but it was too late. We made the decision to pull the plug and now we are down to just one car.

Yes the little BMW, or MOW (Metal On Wheels) as my sisters called it, will be missed.

On a lighter note we won't be saying goodbye to the great state of Texas. Caleb and I have decided to stay in Houston for a few more years. He got a new job with US Zinc and will start there August 4. We are excited to be staying and grateful for good friends constantly persuading us to stay. Well, it worked!

Happy Forth of July

Hope everyone had a fun forth. We were really boring and went to sleep early. Addy did one sparkler and Caleb managed to burn his finger pretty bad. But we had a good time going to the pool and barbecuing earlier in the day. I am grateful we can celebrate our freedom and all those who have fought for it. Here are a few pictures as of late.
Caleb lighting Addy's sparkler

Addy loves the Eagle Springs pool slide. She will go up the stairs all on her own and giggles most of the way down. I bet she has gone almost 100 times and we still see this face every time she comes out.

Addy is out of her crib. Which is pretty sad for me because she isn't a baby any more. We also took away her binkie during the switch.

Sorry this post is all about Addy, but not much is going on with us. Happy 4th weekend!

fun friends

This week I watched my friend Kelsey's cute kids so she could go to girls camp. I never realized the sacrifice the leaders take to be at girls camp. We had a lot of fun with the kids. They were definitely well behaved for being away from their mommy for a day and a half. Perhaps that is because I let them do and eat what ever they wanted. Really the only thing I regulated was pinching, biting, scratching and a good nap.Addy feeding Summer a pretend bottle and pushing her around the living room in her doll stroller. Here are the girls watching Barney before nap time. They wore each other out.
Here is Summer being cute and trying to hold hands with Addy. Kylee being cute. This is Blake. Addy LOVES him.
This was the best picture I could get of the four of them. Caleb was at Scout Camp all week (I am still trying to get funny pictures of him in his uniform to post). He took our camera and I had the old one. Most of the pictures I took were blurry because the camera has a hard time focusing. But it makes a great toy for a five year old. Blake loved taking pictures of everything. He is taking after his mom who is an awesome photographer. Anyway...sorry for the blurriness.
