Addy's Birthday Party

There are a lot of new posts I haven't blogged for a while so we have a lot to catch up on. Addy turned two. Which has been crazy for me. It's a big milestone to not being a baby anymore. I am very sad, but also very blessed with such a sweet daughter.

This is the morning of her party. She was so excited she new something cool was going to happen. Sue came for the week and we had so much fun with her.

For her birthday we went to Jumping Joeys. All the kids had so much fun. About five minutes after we got there Addy jumped down the tallest slide just as an older boy was climbing up the slide (not the stairs) She ran into him and his teeth went into her cheek. Looking back now I am very grateful his teeth didn't hit her eye. But at the time i felt awful, because I went to all this work to plan her birthday party and I thought she wasn't going to enjoy it. I thought she was going to need to go get stitches.

Here she is drinking some tylenol.

We were able to distract her by letting her open a present early and bandage her up. Then she was off to keep bouncing.

She had lots of fun friends come.

The making of Addy's Birthday Cake

This year I wanted to make Addys birthday cake. I had a bunch of cake decorating stuff that I have never really used. Thanks to my friend Trecia, who let me borrow her skirt and flower cake pans and talked me through most of the process. Here we are clothing the naked barbie top. Addy was awed by everything about her birthday cake, which made it that much more fun to make.

I started with a dome cake. Frosted it and put little ruffle cake pieces and frosted it again.

Then I layed the fondant on top.

I added a bow to the back to cover up the crease where the fondant came together.Stuck the Barbie in the top.

Placed the barbie portion on the flower cake.

WhaLaa! Finished product about 4 hours later.
I am pretty proud in case you couldn't tell.

The Barbie Portion was supposed to be just for addy and the flower portion served all the guests of her party. But for some reason she just grabbed the cake pieces that we cut and I didn't really stop her.

Special thanks also to You Tube and expertvillage who taught me how to work with the fondant on a princess doll cake.

Family Pictures

Here are our family pictures. We had so much fun taking pictures. All photos are from Kelsey Call Photography. Thanks Kelsey, there are so many that I absolutely love. I am only posting a few, but we have more than a hundred that I like. I need to make book just on this shoot. Now every time we go shopping she looks for pretty walls and runs up to them and says cheese.
This picture says it all. Our life is so fun, but it is pretty much all about Addy right now.

Halloween

She absolutely loves her new tricycle. And will eventually use the petals to push it.
Here is Addy trick or treating with her friend Bella. She made the cutest little lady bug.

Installing a Husband

I love Caleb. He is a great husband, but I thought this was kinda funny...

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
Romance 9.5 and
Personal Attention 6.5,

and then installed undesirable programs such as
NASCAR 6.0,
NFL 5.1 and
Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?
Signed, Desperate.

DEAR DESPERATE,

First, keep in mind,

Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while
Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.

If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources..)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance.

We recommend
Cooking 3.0 and
Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck Babe!
